The beautiful Labor Day weekend weather continued as we hit the road early
Sunday morning for the Calumet County Fair. This was the first time we played
this event. We had a lot of fun and the time seemed to go way to quickly.
Especially since this was the last show of the summer. Where did the time go?
Want to mention the enjoyable group that was on before us. They were called the
Voices of Peace and they played acoustic southern gospel music. Two guys and two
gals. Some great harmonies. Our show started at noon. We adlibbed some
forgotten oldies during the first set which was a lot of fun for the band and
audience. All summer long the people we've worked have been extremely
friendly and helpful and the Calumet County fair volunteers were no exception.
It sure makes our job more fun dealing with pleasant people. A big thanks to Bo
Bohannon for stepping in at the last minute to provide sound for us. Also thanks
to some of our good friends who made the long drive up to party with us on our
last show of the summer. And last but not least a huge thanks to our seventh
member, Pat, for manning the booth, taking all the great pictures and keeping us
in beer all summer.
